Another Supplier

I hate to pimp out my suppliers but here you go:

www.ombexpress.com

Pretty good company to deal with (Disclaimer; I have no financial interest with them, other than getting the most out of my $$$).

Got an email yesterday offering free shipping on any order over $49.99 through midnight Wednesday the 11th. I called today and was told that it did include ammo. So here you go, check the buckshot prices out:

http://www.ombexpress.com/search.aspx?s=buckshot&cID=

I think they are still pretty good considering today's environment. Some of the other products, "not so much". Be your own judge. All ammo comes from Winchester.

You may need this code at checkout:

How can you tell what brand the ammo is?

Some of it is Winchester but most doesn't say.

Is it stamped Winchester or is it alleged to be Winchester? I'm always very, very, very leery when brand name is not overtly noted.

It is winchester. google it and you will see. The load designation is given in the ad.

Re: Another Supplier

RA1200 load designation is used for Winchester Ranger line, which is LE-only ammo (can still be purchased and owned by civilians), and if it's really what they are selling, those are some very good prices. My dealer that I get my Ranger ammo from quoted me $250 + shipping for a case of RA1200, and he usually has fair prices on this stuff. Here, you can pick up a case for $126 shipped, which I just did. I guess I'll find out soon enough if it's the real deal.

Some of you guys crack me up! You complain about Wal Mart not having any ammo, give you a place to get police grade stuff even cheaper than Wal Mart hunting ammo and you are too lazy to even check it out. These guys cater to people who know what is what.
See if the following will help.

From the Winchester website:

A couple of more clicks:

OMB is good to go, they are reputable and have a big police supply store in KC suburbs. I have bought face to face and on-line, no issues ever.

I got a case of Q3131 from them last month - very good price (compared to other places) and fast shipping - had it in about 3 days I think. I would buy from them again.

I drive by their store every day on the way to work, and I'd never even noticed it was there. I stopped by on the way home tonight, but they close at 4:30, so I'm going to try to make it there during lunch tomorrow and see what they have available, but I'm pretty sure I've finally found my local source to feed my Saiga 12 and my 870. Thanks :ok:

Re: Another Supplier KEAD SHOT??

Does anyone know if the buckshot is LEAD SHOT

I have an older shotgun... well, REALLY old... over 50 years old... and gather that using steel shot or any-non-lead shot can chew up the barrel in no time.

So... don't want to pull the trigger on this tomorrow (Weds) unless I know these shells contain lead shot.

Have to say... the case prices are GREAT!

C&L So these are good to go then (RA1200)? If so, at these prices they are a steal compared to retail....If they are good I will get some. How are they compared to the Remingtons 00 Bucks? I got some Remington 00 Buck so if these arent as good as them I can always use them as practice rounds and have the Remington brand for standby. Im sure they are great since they are Winchester. Thanks for your input.

The RA1200 is what I keep my bedside 870 loaded with. I use Winchester Ranger ammo for self defense almost exclusively in most calibers; having said that, my opinion is that when it comes to 12ga, there is very little (if any) difference between various quality ammo brands, so I would use whatever I could find the cheapest. I'm somewhat "brand loyal" to Ranger, and since I could always get it for the same price as any other brand of SD 12ga ammo, I kept buying the Ranger. However, if RA1200 came at a high premium compared to Remington or any other known brand, I wouldn't hesitate to switch. In this particular case, this is a screaming deal IMO, so I would jump on it while it lasts. I actually just placed my second order for another case of RA1200. I also nearly jumped from excitement when I saw their prices on RA9T and RA45T (I don't think my Credit Card has ever come out of the wallet as fast as it did this time), only to find out it's on backorder.

RA9TA 127 gr 9 mm +P+ T-Series (Case of 500) for $194.77!! Score.

These are Winchester Rangers according to the part number. One heck of a price compared to gunbroker. I couldn't find these anywhere online last night. No tax, free shipping. Thanks for the link.

Their cases, 25-packs, and 5-packs.

DARN! I wish you'd a posted a bit earlier... sigh.

Well, guess it's a case of "you snooze, you lose." :sleepy13:

I'll be hoping I can find a similar great deal.

I dunno. I ordered last night and I got my receipt and it debited from my checking account and got no notification of it being on any kind of delay. I will post again if and when they send the actual shipment notification. Backorder is fine with me as these will be stashed away. And these are a great price! Get em! I ordered the RA1200 12 gauge 00 Buck by the way...

Re: Another Supplier

I just got back from stopping by there during my lunch break, and I picked up a couple 25 round boxes of the Winchester buckshot. I didn't do an exact count, but they had maybe 10 more 25 round boxes on the shelf, and a bunch of the 5 round magnum boxes, but those were over $6.00 for 5 rounds. With tax, I paid about $27 for my 50 rounds :)

They had NO 9mm in stock though, and didn't know when they'd be getting more in.

Nah, I don't think they're being sloppy on their website.

The person I spoke with on the phone (was going to do a phone order) said the buckshot had been all sold off in the last 24-48 hours... guess there was just too much of a rush to grab it... and I didn't find out about it until last night, so couldn't place a phone order till this morning... sigh.

Believe I read someone on here scored some buckshot yesterday... they must've gotten some of the last left.

These people sound legitimate and competent.

Sad thing is, I have a BAD FEELING that when they get more... the prices are going to be MUCH higher... which is not to say that other sellers won't be charging EVEN MORE!!!

Oh well....:bawling:

Sorry about that.:s1: I spent 30 hurried seconds verifying the part number afore I was typing in a CC number to scoop it up. Their server seemed to be slowing down too.

Wish I had bought a few more 500 round cases of RA9TA at the $194.77 price last night. Today on gunbroker somebody sold 1000 rounds of it for $650 plus $25 shipping buy it now! I could have been rich I tell ya, well beer and prep money for the month.

My order arrived today. Or should I say a small part of it.

I ordered 9 boxes in total, 1 box arrived today.
I called OMB and they said the 12ga 00 would ship tomorrow and the rest is on backorder and will be at least a couple weeks but couldn't say for sure when.

At the time I placed the order their website didn't say anything about being out of stock. I'm a little disappointed.

I'm well stocked I just wanted some new carry ammo and some more 12ga 00.
Oh well I guess I'll wait.

If you have a wound steel barrel, you cannot use any of the newer plastic casing shot ammo. You might bring it to a local gun shop and be certain you are not doing anything dangerous.

Just to update. Found out today my order for 1,000 rounds of Winchester Ranger aka 'Black Talon' aka 'Cop killer' ammo is back ordered with no eta. Not a big deal, but there was no indication whatsoever when I ordered they were out of stock so just beware.

This was a big sale at OMB Express, usually ammo is excluded from the free shipping offers. The guys and gals that ordered early, got their ammo.

I think they may have been surprised by the number of orders they got. We may be our own worst enemies!

They are a solid company and they will not process your card until they ship the product. This is an exception for these guys, it is unusual that they are showing that the products are still in stock when they are not.

If your order was for stock, I hope you can wait. If you need it now, you should have bought last year (or the year before). If you choose to wait, the wait will be worth it. As posted previously, this stuff is bringing big $$$ on the open market.

While they following examples are definitely not the same ammo, they are close enough to show a comparison of the value in being patient and waiting:

This is the "Talon" +P+ load:

http://www.ombexpress.com/c_0/p_AM797.aspx

http://www.winchester.com/lawenforce...l=RA9TA&type=1

This is the JHP +P+ load:

http://www.ammunitiontogo.com/catalo...oducts_id/1582 (plus shipping)

http://www.winchester.com/lawenforce.../RA9115HP+.doc

There is no doubt, Ammo To Go is a good supplier, the only problem with them is that they are most likely 2x the price that of OMB Express but they had it and now you have it. Take your pick, wait or pay more.
